Ammerman Center for Arts and Technology Senior Project
I am a selected scholar in Connecticut College's Ammerman Center for Arts and Technology (C@t). The program requires students to take classes in both art and computer science, culminating in a project that combines components of both art and technology. I am producing a hand-drawn animated short that will be presented to the college community and the public in the spring. The animation is produced by taking my hand drawn animatic frames as templates and then animating them in Flash, combining the stylized look of cel-frame animation with the clean format of Flash animation. My personal goal for the project is to have my animated short fit for upcoming film festivals.
Senior Art Thesis
This May I am exhibiting a body of work that displays my year-long examination of a specific topic through my concentrations of drawing and printmaking. I am creating a series of drawings, prints, and collage pieces on the fine line between female objectification and femininity. Women should be allowed to explore and use their feminine qualities without misunderstanding or criticism. In my opinion, women and men are equal but different, and each gender should learn to accept and utilize differences between the sexes. This is my personal pet project because my interest in women's issues goes beyond the usual definition of feminism. I hope to keep this section updated with links to related topics for others passionate about the topic.
