The Project

The purpose of this project is to extend my exploration and interest in the human body its movements and the process of bringing an idea to life.. As a beginner animator, I have decided to tackle on walk cycles in particular as it is what brings some personality to any one character. In order for the completion of this project I was to take the role of all positions described below. Divided in several stages I was able to focus on one at a time, assuming a pretend position as a modeler, animator, etc.

 
Components

Mdeling:

  • Used subdivition modeling to implement the geometrical structure of two characters
  • Used rotoscoped reference of feet/hands/head

Rigging:

  • Enhanced the default rigging found in XSI ( sretchy arms script, Ik/Fk, facial controls)

Animation:

  • Explored walking mechanics
  • Explored Run/Sneak cycles

Renderting:

  • Utilized Mental RAY
  • Utilized Global Illumination

Lighting:
