Our mission is to unite leftists on Connecticut College Campus, from moderate liberal to radical anarcho-syndicalists, in activist activity and to become a vehicle for social change. We are also a facility to help educate others on social and political injustice both nationally and internationally, and to take an active role against those injustices. CCLeft is a non-partisan organization.
1. Membership may not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, national or ethnic origin, visible or invisible disability, or status as a veteran, disabled veteran, or veteran of the Vietnam War.
2. Voting and non-voting membership is open to all matriculated students of Connecticut College, all faculty, staff, administration, and their families.
Though there will be no formal leadership within CCLeft, there will be a voluntary Treasurer position. Every member has equal say in every decision made by CCLeft. Decisions will be based on consensus, and no action will be taken without unanimous consent of the group. Absent but active members can voice their opinion on an existent online forum set up for this purpose.
The treasurer is responsible for all financial records and transactions of CCLeft.
1. Amendments must be presented to all members in writing before the proposed vote.
2. Amendments must be approved by a consensus.
3. Amendments must be approved by the Student Government Association (SGA).
ARTICLE VI: Ratification
The Student Government Association must ratify this constitution.
