Do I have to be a dancer to be a part of Dance Club?
Of course not! We like to have all different types of people in Dance Club. It helps if you're interested in dance, though...!
Do I have to be taking a technique class to be in Dance Club? And what about to dance in the concerts?
No! Anybody can join Dance Club and you do not need to take technique classes in order to perform, either.
What type of performances does the Club do?
Along with the two concerts, we have Works in Progress which is an informal showing of work(dance, art, poetry, music, theater, etc.) that we are co-sponsoring with Theater One. In the past, we have done contact improv. at random spaces around campus as well as put on a short compilation of work for National Dance Week.
What other activities does Dance Club do besides performing?
Besides the concerts, we take a few trips off campus to see perfomances (i.e. NYC, Boston, etc.). We also sponsor at least one guest artist a year whose classes are open to the entire campus, movie nights as well as National Dance Week.
