End of Daze (Or, Tour for Sure)
Howdy peeps!
Now that we're at the very end of our fiscal year here at CC (praise to the sweet lord Krishna), I thought I'd take a minute and thank the thousands of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends of Connecticut College who have already supported the school this year. You guys are great!!
If you haven't given yet and still want to do so, you've got until tomorrow (Friday), so log on to http://giving.conncoll.edu and make a gift of any amount. Your support is very much appreciated!
In other Chris Reilly news, Welcome to Florida is kicking off its summer tour tomorrow with a show up in beautiful and nautical Portsmouth, NH (city motto: "We're Like New London If It Took a Bath"). Other stops include our first shows ever in Richmond, VA, Raleigh, NC, and Philadelphia, PA; I can't wait to treat all these new cities to our semi-pleasing music and jokes! Plus, I've really had a hankering for a sandwich containing a pound of meat slathered in liquid neon cheese, and now I'll finally get to scratch that itch.
Speaking of WTF, work on our new album continues despite the fact that things are moving a little more slowly than I had anticipated. I can't believe that the summer is already half over, but I guess time flies when you're, uh, hmm, working late and covered in rain everyday...? Is that how the saying goes?
Something I am looking forward to this summer besides the WTF tour is a pair of weddings I'm attending in August. The first is between two WTF superfans who are tying the knot in major style (to give you a sense of the scale of this wedding, they've hired us AND another band to play the wedding reception on separate stages, just like Lollapalooza!). The second is a few weeks later between good friend and fellow camel Laura Brown '07 and Spanish basketball star/supermodel Francisco Moya Gonzalez (my sincere condolences to all non-Laura women out there on the impending taken-ness of the extremely handsome Fran).
Well, that's about it from my me. Hope everyone out there is getting some time to kick back and enjoy the summer. Much love, gang!
