Who are we? The renewable Energy Club (REC) is a group of interesting people on campus who meet once a week to brainstorm cool ways that we can reduce our energy consumption through advertising ways to conserve, renewable technologies, and Jedi mind tricks. In the past, we have been behind things like the CFL exchange, where we give out free compact fluorescent bulbs (lights that use 20 percent of the energy normal ones do) to anyone who wants them. We were the foundation of ideas to get a wind turbine on campus, something that is now in the process of an extensive “feasibility study” by an off-campus firm (read more about it here). This year we have several top-secret ideas that will be coming at you before you know it on ways to improve Conn.
