Our Favorite Band, Girlyman's harmony-driven style veers from contemporary folk to country rock to pop. Each member switches off songwriting duties, lead vocals, and a range of instruments, including acoustic guitar, djembe, banjo, baritone guitar and mandolin.
The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition (GenderPAC) is the national organization working to end discrimination and violence caused by gender stereotypes. GenderPAC also promotes understanding of the connection between gender discrimination and that based on factors such as age, race, and class.
Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) This wonderful organization offers both on and off line support for LGPTQ people and their parents and friends.
GLSEN is an education organization ensuring safe schools for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students.
True Colors, Inc. Sexual Minority Youth and Family Services is an organization working to eliminate the stigma associated with sexual and gender minority status and to ensure that the needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and other sexual and gender minorities are competently met by those responsible for our education, health, and well-being.

Unity House Clubs

 

The Connecticut College Asian/Asian American Student Association promotes the learning and understanding of Asian/Asian American culture. CCASA is responsible for the programming of traditional events like Diwali Dinner, Sushi Nite, and Asian Pacific American Heritage month. CCASA also provides a supportive environment for students of Asian/Asian American descent.
La Unidad is the Connecticut College organization dedicated to promoting awareness of issues most pertinent to the Latino on campus and in the United States today. Originally known as La Unidad Latina, the organization still maintains the same vision as it was originally founded under, though having widened a lot in its scope. We address various types of issues ranging from the political to the cultural, and anything in between that seems to affect Latinos today. Every November La Unidad celebrates Latino Awareness Month with our Annual Intercollegiate Conference.
Umoja
Umoja meaning Unity in Swahili, is the African/ African-American students' organization that serves as a support group for students of African descent and those interested in multicultural issues. Umoja oversees the programming of events such as the Kwanzaa dinner, Black Solidarity Day, and the month long events during black History month. Umoja provides interested students with the opportunity to engage and speak about political and social issues facing the black community as well as be an active member of the college campus and the surrounding New London community.
Unity Student Steering Committee (USSC)

The purpose of the USSC is to oversee, discuss, and act upon issues of concern primarily or exclusively to students involved in Unity House and those concerned with multiculturalism and diversity issues at Connecticut College. The committee shall seek to provide extended channels of communication, increased areas of cooperation, and a greater acceptance of shared responsibility between students, student organizations, faculty,the administration and the Board of Trustees. The committee shall recommend policy to the governance structures of Connecticut College.

Gospel Choir
The objective of the Unity Gospel Choir is to provide the Connecticut College community with performances of gospel music. Preformances include Fall and Spring concerts as well as Umoja Holiday Celebration and the Christmas Vespers.
